Announcing Our Exclusive Single-Barrel Bourbon

Cap n’ Cork will soon be releasing the single-barrel bourbon handpicked by Andy Lebamoff, Joe Doust and Brent Parker on a trip to Kentucky this spring!

Typically a head distiller will blend perhaps 50 barrels to create a brand’s signature bourbon. But we sampled unique barrels of different ages, all very distinct from each other even though they may have been stored side by side, and selected a series of our favorites. After we sign the barrels, the distillery completes the filtering, bottling and labeling and sends the original barrel along with the product. Each barrel produces 28 to 35 cases depending on how much has evaporated over the years. Most of these will be at barrel proof, which ranges by product but is usually higher than normal, allowing you to enjoy it as is or dilute with water or ice as needed. We chose 10 barrels in all, broken down as follows:

  1. Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve, 120 proof
  2. Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve, 120 proof
  3. Wild Turkey Russels Reserve
  4. Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit
  5. Four Roses Barrel Strength, aged 10 years, 7 months
  6. Four Roses Barrel Strength, aged 10 years, 7 months
  7. Buffalo Trace Series 5
  8. Buffalo Trace Series 6
  9. Eagle Rare Series 2
  10. Ridgemont 1792 Barrel Strength

All will be in stores sometime in the next five months. As these precious babies are delivered, we’ll post notices on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with details on pricing, time in barrel and flavor profile. Get ready to discover a special bourbon flavor unlike any other!

Happy Father’s Day

Speaking of bourbon, we have an incredible selection. As zmoore182 said on Instagram, “Boom!! @capncork is the best place for finding rare bourbon in Fort Wayne.” (Thank, you, zmoore182, for the shoutout!)

A high-quality bourbon is a great gift for Dad this Father’s Day. If he enjoys his with a cigar, we carry those too, at the Georgetown Square, Broadway, Lima Road, Lake Avenue, Maysville, Coldwater, Covington, Dupont/Lima and Canterbury stores. In fact, whatever his taste, we have something to suit your father, husband or significant other. If you’re not sure what that is…well that’s what gift cards are for!
